For The Sake of the Call

by Joe Onosai

Scripture

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
(Ephesians 4:1 NASB)

with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
(Ephesians 4:2 NASB)

being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
(Ephesians 4:3 NASB)

Observation

Our conduct should not only be a reflection of God's calling in our lives for the sake of our individual destiny, but also for our unity amongst each other in the church. When we are motivated by the love of God and express ourselves to one another with humility, gentleness and patience, we saturate our church with the peace of God.

Application

I will lean upon your strength and wisdom do my part to walk worthy of my calling as a pastor. I will continue to be a protector of the atmosphere of peace in my church and my home by walking in humility, gentleness and patience.

Prayer

Lord, I thank you for helping me to be humble, gentle and patient as shepherd over your flock. Help me to teach and admonish our church members to not only love you but to love each other. I thank you that you would continue to enlarge our hearts to enable us to love people like you would - unconditionally. I love you Lord.
