Taking Advantage of Divine Opportunities
Scripture
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
(Ephesians 5:15 NASB)
making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
(Ephesians 5:16 NASB)
So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
(Ephesians 5:17 NASB)
Observation
Those who are wise are those who understand what the will of the Lord is for their lives. As a Christian, the Bible instructs me to be participator of the Great Commission and not just a spectator. Instead of sitting in the stands and watching the eternal battle for souls be played out, let's look for opportunities to share our faith. No matter what our career paths are, our lives are meant to be a witness to those around us. The Lord wants us to intentionally influence those around us by sharing the goodness and love of God. Proverbs 11:30 says that those who win souls are wise. Let's not be foolish and squander our time here on earth unwisely with vain pursuits. Instead, let's be wise and understand the plan of God to bring salvation to our family and friends - is through you.
Application
Today I wil look for opportunities to share my faith with those around me. I know that this is the will of the Lord.
Prayer
Lord you said that the righteous are as bold as lions. Lord I pray for your boldness and your courage to share my faith with those I encounter today. Lord, help me to not get so caught up with my own agenda that I miss the opportunity that you will present before me. Thank you Lord for enlarging my heart to see more people come to know you personally. I love you Lord.
